What a week

Hello, all my friendly f-listers! How are your preparations for the holidays coming? I've done absolutely nothing so far. My kids haven't told me what they want for Christmas, and I've had no ambition to put up any decorations. Maybe we'll do some this weekend depending on how motivated any of us are around here.

This turned out to be a very hectic but good week. Some of the best parts?
1. Lunch with a good friend from work that turned into a frenzy of laughs
2. Figuring out a particularly ugly programming glitch that was throwing off my statistical reporting
3. Handing out performance awards (money!) to people on my team
4. Dinner with some friends I hadn't seen for a while; another frenzy of laughs
5. The cafeteria at work FINALLY got strawberry jam! (so good on my morning bagel)
6. Started learning The GIMP graphics program; I'm already amazing myself!
7. My Stephen clock arrived! Merry Christmas to me! (You'll be pleased to hear that Stephen thinks my touch is firm but fair.)
8. Realized my PC can play Region 2 DVDs Woo!
9. One of the contestants on the Amazing Race made a comment about the Moroccan sunrise; my son and I looked at each other and burst out laughing *points to icon and this link*

The not-so-best parts are best forgotten, and so we shall.

Next week promises treats of a F&L nature.
1. BBC America is showing an episode of Who's Line with Stephen at 8 PM USET on Monday the 11th
2. Stephen is guesting on the Craig Ferguson show at 12.37 AM USET on Wednesday the 13th (overnight Tuesday night)
3. New House episode on Tuesday

How are you all doing? Hope you're all experiencing exactly as much of the holiday spirit as you desire. Stop over when you get the chance and let me know how you're enjoying December. :)

Yes. I did. Because I could not have lived another day without one. And it's my money, and I can spend it however I want. And I'm a total brat. ;) LOL!

Enjoying December? Isn't that a contradiction in terms? I have no holiday spirit whatsoever. I always thougth I would if I had kids, but I see that doesn't help. ;) And yesterday we had snow, which meant getting outside early and helping clear a run for Eor's van as well as scraping my car. And it never properly thawed out. Why do car designers use stupid-ass wipers that have a billion hinges which get ice in them and then refuse to work correctly? And make a circulation system in a car which is, let us say, somewhat less than adequate? The Chevy Aveo should not be sold in northern climes.

Ugh. I'm not looking forward to snow and shoveling and such. We had flurries on Thursday, but nothing that lasted any length of time. I hate the cold, I hate snow; why in heaven's name do I live in the Northeast?

Yes! GimpShop is quite awesome. It's my first cg program and I really find it. . .charming? Can graphics programs be charming?! XD

*explodes* TiVo-ing NOW.

Yes, I think a cg program can be charming. :) It's really an incredible program; so powerful and so many options...and for free! I don't know what additional features Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro have over GIMP, but I'm thinking those features are way more advanced than I need. I don't even understand everything GIMP has to offer!

Gah, I hope Stephen's visit on Ferguson doesn't fall through like it did last time. It was SO disappointing! But I'm hoping for the best and, like you, my Tivo is fired up and ready to go!
