Tutorial 6

Let's go from Tut6Before.png to GordonRebellion.png using GIMP 2.2.

I started with this cropped and scanned image from a V for Vendetta screencap: Tut6Before.png.

01. Sharpen to 40.
02. Using Circle 01 brush and 4073bc, color Gordon's eyes.
03. Duplicate base, leave at Normal 100%.
04. Using white, apply TinyText32 brush from this set by weapon_icons found at pstogimpbrushes to
duplicated layer; erase stray markings on Gordon's face.
05. Duplicate base, move to become top layer, set to Overlay 50%, invert colors (Layer, Colors, Invert).
06. Duplicate inverted colors layer, set to Overlay 100%, invert colors (we're reverting the color scheme back to original).
07. New layer, e6e69f, set to Saturation 100%.
08. New layer, 8d6c3b, set to Soft Light 60%.
09. New layer, ffd7cb, set to Burn 35%.
10. New layer, e01904, set to Hue 30%.
11. New layer, 4073bc, set to Soft Light 100%.

Here is my completed Layers dialog:
