Second Tutorial

Go from JW1x02_BertieName_orig.png to JW1x02_BertieName.png with The GIMP 2.2!

I started with this cropped and scaled image from a Jeeves & Wooster screencap: JW1x02_BertieName_orig.png
01. Sharpen to 60.
02. I didn't like the gas tank cover beside Bertie's shoulder, so I used the eydropper tool
to grab the color of the door panel and a circle 3 brush to paint over it.
03. Duplicate base, set to Overlay 100%.
04. Duplicate that layer, keep Overlay 100%.
05. Duplicate that layer, set to Screen 100%.
06. New layer, ffd7cb, set to Burn 80%.
07. New layer, 8fe1ff, set to Burn 80%.
08. New layer, ffffff (white), set to Overlay 75%.
09. New layer, fire_icons-texturea24.png texture from fire_icons, set to Overlay 50%.
10. Text was added to "Background copy #2" layer, French Script MT, 30 pt., color b10e0e.

This is how my Layers dialog looked after all was said and done:

I'd love to see your results!

Squee!!! Thanks! It's so impressive to me how applying a little white here and a little turquoise there and you completely beautify a muddy washed out screencap. I LOVE this stuff! :D

Oh, and I have to remember to make a Jeeves/Bertie icon! May I steal the quote/idea from you? *bats eyelashes*
